Bavarian Hofbrau - German bandThe Bavarian Hofbrau Band was founded over twenty years ago by a group of musicians from the North Shore of Boston. In the ensuing years, they have worked on perfecting the style of the oompah band. Members have visited the Old Vienna Hofbrau in Montreal, the World's Fair in Tennessee and have even traveled to various cities and towns in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Liechtenstein. Many of their melodies are also great favorites in German areas in of this country. Most of us have heard "Du,Du, Liegst Mir Am Herzen" , or "In Munchen Stet ein Hofbrau Haus" at some time or other. This group has been heard all over New England - as far north as Limestone, Maine; as far south as New Haven, Connecticut; as far west as North Adams, MA and as far east as the many excursion ships sailing from Boston Harbor. They have been featured at Quincy Market in Boston, The Hopkinton (NH) Fair, the Samoset Resort, Cliffside at Ogunquit, the Rochester (NH) Fair, the Boston Brew House, International Festivals in Somerset, NH, and Peabody, MA. The group is flexible in their persentations, being able to stroll through various venues - either outdoors at a company picnic or indoors at a conference center. They are also capable, when advised ahead of time, of playing for a club dance. With the addition of a drummer, they are able to play a combination of German and American dance music. When in concert, the band presents a tour of the German speaking world, starting in Vienna, going north into Bohemia, then west through Northern Germany and then south through the Black Forest and Bavaria. After a short trip through tiny Liechtenstein, they move to Switzerland, with appropriate Swiss tunes and maybe even the famous thirteen foot Alp Horn of the Ricola TV commercials. The tour finishes with a number of German American melodies from Minnesota and Pennsylvania. Always crowd pleasers, the Bavarian Hofbrau Band remains ready, willing and able to fulfill your needs for good, solid German music. For more information, Contact Us |

Beantown Swing Orchestra-17 pc. big bandBAND INSTRUMENTATION AND LAYOUT With instrumentation similar to many of the great big bands of the Swing Era, the Beantown Swing Orchestra consists of the following: 5 saxes/clarinets 4 trumpets 4 trombones 1 piano 1 guitar 1 acoustic bass 1 drums 1-3 female vocalists (optional) Furthermore, unlike most modern big bands, the Beantown Swing Orchestra's horn section appears on stage in classic fashion - with the saxes separated from the brass. In fact, the saxes are on one side and the trumpets and trombones are on the other. This layout makes perfect sense, considering that swing arrangements contain a lot of "call-and-response" patterns between these two groups. The call-and-response motif is a basic element of early jazz and is derived from the style of human communication found in African cultures. When this is presented on stage in musical form, it really appears that the horns are communicating with each other. Also unlike most modern big bands, the Beantown Swing Orchestra's drummer appears at the front and center of the stage. The drummer is a key element in making the music "swing" and is the source of a lot of exciting rhythm patters and solos. The drummer is too important to be obscured at the back of the stage. MUSICAL STYLE The band plays both types of music from the Swing Era: "sweet" and "hot." "Sweet" music is generally more lyrical and romantic and involves slow dancing to ballads and swing dancing to faster tunes. "Hot" music is fast, exciting, and rhythmic, and it is perfect for Lindy Hop (a type of swing dancing that may include jumps and flips) or any other wild and crazy dance style. Mix the two together, and there will never be a dull moment on the dance floor!

Benny Sharoni JazzGrowing up on the kibbutz in Israel, there was always music in our home. My parents emigrated from Chile and Yemen, so between them I was heavily influenced by Latin and African-based music and rhythms. Both of my parents truly love music and encouraged me at an early age to study classical flute. Because of my extreme free spirit, I sought out a musical form that broke beyond the constraints of classical music. It was there that I found jazz the freest and most expressive music out there. I got my first taste of international performance representing Israel on a 1978 European tour of Israeli folk music and dance. After several years of playing flute I was drawn to the sound of the saxophone, began playing tenor and alto saxophone and became increasingly passionate about jazz. I emigrated to the U.S. in 1986 to study jazz performance at Berklee School of Music. I studied with some of America's great jazz masters and began playing jazz both nationally and internationally. Bones of Contention - bayou swampy bluesThe swampy rock 'n roll entry of the Swamptone Sampler is Boston, MA's Bones of Contention. A stripped-down trio playing originals hard and fast, this is the alternative sound of the roots of the swamp grown up and twisted by the moss, the humidity, and the heat, not to mention Massachusetts Avenue and Central Square. The band plays originals from the pens of Joe Pete and Mickey Bones, and within one can hear the roots from which they came. But also evidenced, especially in these recordings, are the workings of musicians respectful and appreciative of the past pushing forwards and towards their own rock 'n roll experience and sound. Boston Soul Revue - classic 60's soul and r&bClassic 60's Soul + R&B + Motown + 70's Dance/Funk + The James Brown Songbook + Jazz/Pop Standards = A great time for your event! "Soul Man" Delaware Floyd Like so many fine soul vocalists, Floyd began in the church choir as a youth, growing up in Ellsmere, Delaware. Also, like so many other talented singers, he gave up a promising musical career to get a "regular" job and raise a family. Now, with his children grown, he is back on stage, with a vengeance! His powerful gospel tinged voice energizes audiences wherever he goes. In recent years, he has appeared at such far-flung venues as The Funky Parrot club on Bourbon St. in New Orleans and the Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas. His heartfelt rendition of "One In A Million" will bring a lump to your throat, and you wont be able to stop your feet from dancing when he gets it on with the irrepressible beat of Tyrone Davis' "Can I Change My Mind". "Sweet Judy" Teo Born in the soul capitol of the midwest (that's right , Fond-Du Lac, Wisconsin), Judy hit the road at a young age, touring with a band from her hometown. Settling in Boston, she has brought her sweet soulful voice to such legendary Boston bands as Gypsy, Goodnight Louise, Bijou, and many others. She has performed with international stars such as Maxine Nightingale, and performs regularly at the House of Blues gospel brunch with the gospel group Rev. Lee Mitchell & Co. She is also regularly called on to back up the Harvey Robbins and the Royalty of Rock and Roll All Stars show, which features many legends of doo-wop and rock and roll. J. B., Jr. "The Godnephew of Soul" You might guess that a singer with the stage name "J. B. Jr." would be borrowing heavily from the James Brown songbook. You might be right. A native of Richfield, NC, JB grew up idolizing and emulating his musical hero. Making his home in Boston since the mid-60's, he has spent a lifetime on and off the road, at various times bringing his act to the stage as an opener for such legends as The Blue Notes, Wilson Pickett, Millie Jackson, Maurice Starr, Sam & Dave, and yes, the "real" James Brown. His energy is infectious, whether doing the Camel Walk across the stage, or splits in the middle of the dance floor; the whole audience will just have to "git up, git on up"! The Boston Soul Revue Band Features Emmett Simmons, formerly with the James Brown band, on tenor and baritone sax, along with veteran Boston musicians including members of Boston Music Award winner Weepin' Willie's All Star Blues Band. Various members of the band have performed with such Boston area R&B favorites as: Toni Lynn Washington, Shirley Lewis, Little Joe Cook, Sweet Roy Jones, Silas Hubbard Jr., Chris Fitz, "No Way Jose" Ramos, the late "Earring George" Mayweather, as well as international stars including Herb Reed, The Temptations, Smokey Robinson, The Chi-Lites, Al Jarreau, Peaches & Herb, Thelma Houston, The Tonight Show Orchestra, and many others.

Chicken Slacks- Funk and SoulClassic American Soul Revue Funk/Dance For Live Youtube Video visit http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y1TQWOwVpgs The Chicken Slacks are dedicated to the re-creation of an authentic soul revue show featuring a larger-than-average band. A tight rhythm section, gritty horns, and a stirring star vocalist combine to create a powerful stage presence and big sound to which audiences immediately respond. The band delivers high-energy music for people to dance, romance, bump, grind, sway, stumble, sing along, reminisce, celebrate, and get down to. The Chicken Slacks are Boston area musicians who have toured nationally and internationally. They make an immediate impression on their audiences and clients with their young look, professional work ethic and dedication to the live show. What is SOUL music, you ask? There are many definitions, but it began with Ray Charles and Sam Cooke, spread in Memphis with STAX records and Otis Redding, Sam and Dave, Rufus Thomas, and the gang. It made its way to MUSCLE SHOALS with Wilson Picket and Aretha Franklin. The MOTOWN sound has a soul thing, with Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye. James Brown and Sly and the Family Stone took soul and made it into FUNK, paving the way for Tower of Power and Blood Sweat and Tears. Soul also morphed into R&B and disco, with Michael Jackson and the Bee Gees among the champions. Within this musical milieu are the names and songs we all know and love, but also hundreds of forgotten tunes by forgotten soulsters just as worthy to be performed and just as great to dance to. Its all about the groove. This is SOUL. This is what we do. We wanted to let you know what a blast it was having the Chicken Slacks at our wedding! Your professionalism and sense of humor throught the planning process made things very easy for us, and both the jazz band and the Chicken Slacks performances were amazing. You guys really know how to read the crowd and you picked great songs in every set. Sarah and Carl Married May, 2006 Mystic, CT Just want to express our thanks for helping to make our wedding so much fun. You guys were fantastic! Your cover of 'these arms of mine' was friking phenomenal. Thanks again! Bradley and James Married July, 2006 Plymouth, MA Chicken Slacks, I want to thank you all so much for making my husband Rick's 50th Birthday party such a success. Rick said I couldn't have chosen a better band for the occasion. I received so many calls from guests saying it was the BEST party they had EVER been to and that the band was GREAT! They all wanted to know where I found you and a few want to hire you for upcoming parties and functions... Barbara Purro, 50th Birthday Party 2003, Private Residence, Natick, MA Considering that Rick is a veteran musician and half the audience was also, that they thoroughly enjoyed you is quite a compliment. Your professionalism was much appreciated also. You did everything just as you said you would. My only regret is that the dance floor was TOO small but it didn't stop the crowd ages two to eighty from getting up there and shakin' it the whole night! Barbara Purro, 50th Birthday Party 2003, Private Residence, Natick, MA The Chicken Slacks totally rocked. It was the best party I've ever been to (and I have been to lots)...I'm actually trying to get some friends to pony up and go in on having them for another party. Tell the lead singer a few women came up to me and said "he's so sexy!" I thought they all were. Thanks!
Lisa Port White, Private Party 9/11/04 Hellenic Center, Watertown, MA We LOVED working with the Chicken Slacks for our wedding for so many reasons. On the "business end" of things - they were professional, reliable, responsive. It meant a lot to me that they were personable and friendly - and had fun personalities. One of the things we were so pleased about is that they ran the show well. They had smooth transitions, a good repoirte with the crowd and set a good rhythm overall for the evening. But it took almost zero encouragement to get the crowd out there... Kate and Danny Blood, married at Oneida Mountain House, New York Catskills Everyone LOVED their music - and our dance floor was packed all night. I think that of all details of a reception, the band makes or breaks it - and they definitely made the evening. Danny and I were determined to find a band that would play good songs - relatively well-known songs that were not cliche - and not be a "cheesy" wedding band - so many bands have that feel. And they were the perfect fit for us. Kate and Danny Blood, married at Oneida Mountain House, New York Catskills Dear Chicken Slacks, You were excellent! The best! Everyone - young and old - LOVED your music! We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping to make our wedding a great time! MANY of guests have asked about you and we're spreading the word. Thank you for your soul, your professionalism, for learning Bee Gees. And for creating a crowd on the dance floor. All the best!

C-JammersThe C-JAMMERS are a group of hard working seasoned musicians from the Boston area. You never know what magical thing might happen. Like the time Lynne Anderson joined the band on stage at Indian Ranch. Or the night Ruth Pointer belted out two full sets at "Fifties". They've been the opening act for such notables as Ronnie Milsap, The Grass Roots, The Charlie Daniels Band and Lynne Anderson. The group consists of piano & keyboard, bass, drums, and guitar. Complemented by a rip roaring 3 piece horn section (trumpet, trombone and sax) and topped off with a dynamite female vocalist. Our keyboard player sings as well. The music is a mix of classic and contemporary Rock and hard drivin' Boogie. The band also has a full wedding and party repertoire. There's no question: The C-JAMMERS are a good time band who'll have you dancing in the streets. Wanna have a good time and boogie down...CHECK US OUT ! Hi I just had to write you to let you know what a fabulous job the C-Jammers did at my wedding on May 22, 2004. I was hesitant to book them as I was not able to hear them play live before my big event. They blew us away and exceeded our expectations! They sounded good on the CD, but live they are GREAT..their voices, the horns, the music- all top notch. I am still getting feedback from my family & friends about what a "great band we had at our wedding". Everyone has said the same thing about the band doing a terrific job of keeping the momentum & dancing going all night long. From the first dance to the last their level of energy, enthusiasm, ability to get the crowd moving & just plain great music did not end. Feel free to use me as a reference anytime. Thanks! Allison Tuesday, June 08, 2004 Mike and Sue People are still raving about the band!!! You guys were the highlight of the night.... perfect!!! You were just outstanding. I am going to be putting a letter together to send to you and feel free to use us as references at any point. If we know of anyone having a function, we will highly recommend you. I am also going to blast your names on the Boston wedding website that I went on. Thank you so much for the time of our lives! Sheramy and Jeremy Dear Michael, We want to take this opportunity to thank you for the outstanding job the C-Jammers did at our daughter's wedding August 5, 2000. The selections, musicianship, and arrangements were great and the crowd truly responded. Also we were very impressed with your professionalism and the flexibility you showed in dealing with our requests and dealing with the Armenian band. My brother in law, Jerry Kayanjian, as a professional musician, gave you two thumbs up! We had heard a number of groups beforehand and knew the moment we heard you at the Copley Marriot that you were it! Thank you again and you can be sure we will be more than happy to recommend your services. Sincerely, Mary Ann Kazanjian Monday, August 07, 2000 Hi Annie! The wedding was fabulous...when we were all at breakfast on Sunday, everyone commented on how wonderful the wedding was. But what I continued to hear from everyone was how great the C-Jammers were. Since we planned the wedding from Boston, everyone wanted to know how we found them. Tom and I are so grateful to have found you. Thanks for all your advice...you were definitely right about the C-Jammers! Mike did a great job...all we had to do was enjoy our day. And the brass section at the ceremony...as soon as they started to play, I don't think there was one single dry eye in the church. We will definitely be a reference for you...any time! Thanks Annie, Tom and Lorin Holmes Dear Michael, We want to take this opportunity to thank you for the outstanding job the C-Jammers did at our daughter's wedding August 5, 2000. Not only were you very professional, but you sounded fantastic! Everybody raved about the band and had a wonderful time dancing the night away! I will highly recommend you for future functions - as will the Ballymeade coordinator, Scot McNeil Thank you! Melanie & Scott Edwards C-Jammers, You guys and gal are the BOMB! Thank you for profesionalism in every respect. I couldn`t have hired a better band for my wife`s 40th birthday. You're alot of FUN and keep up the good work. Sincerely, Roy Perron Hi Mike! Jeff and I just returned from our honeymoon...to rave reviews about our wedding and the C-Jammers especially... You were absolutely fantastic- and our wedding was such a blast thanks to your energy and talent... I will be forwarding you a letter of recommendation as soon as I catch up at work-and I will continue to refer you to all of our friends looking to get married...Thank you for everything...we had a memorable night...! You will hear from us soon...! Meghan and Jeff Wilmot Hi Mike, Wow, you guys really know how to liven up a party! What a great job you did. I've never seen guests have such a good time, and your playing and singing were fantastic. Don't know how you can talk for a week afterwards, but that's your professional expertise at work. I didn't mean to be the bad guy about cut-off time, but I was under instructions from the Club to make sure the music stopped at 10. Neighborhood noise limits and also they had a few guests who needed to be cut off at the bar. I know everyone could have gone on for hours and hours more. My age is showing when I see kids dancing like that for hours on end - but that's why they are so skinny and have so much energy. Me, I've got mono, of all things, so it was all I could do to stand up, but I didn't tell Jessica that. Hope we have a chance to meet again at another function. You'll get my recommendation when brides ask for a good band. Cheers, Margy. June 3, 1999 Dear C-Jammers, Thank you for playing at the American Heart Association's Heart Ball on May 15th. Our guests really enjoyed your sound and the variety of music you played. I've never seen the dance floor so consistently full at one of these events! Many thanks! Jodi-Joy O'Keefe October 10, 2000 Hans, I just wanted to pass along some feedback to you. I have heard from numerous people at this years Thursday Night Gala, that the C-Jammers are the best band we have ever had at this event. I thought that was a great thing since we have had so many bands. Vicki Boise IDX Corp Burlington, Vt. Hi Sue and Mike, I just wanted to tell you how impressed we were with your performance at Olive's. My parents and i were pleased to see firsthand the variety of music that you play. Please let me know if you will be in RI on any other dates we would like to see you again. Jen Trombley Dear Mike and Sue, Just wanted to drop a note to tell you what a fantastic impression the C-Jammers made at our wedding reception (April 1, 2000). It just wouldn't have been the same without you!! Since our wedding, there has been much talk about the great music you produced. I would strongly recommend the band to anyone looking to make their function a memorable one. In fact, my brother-in-law is planning his wedding with you in mind!! Thank you for helping to make our wonderful day even more fun and exciting. Sincerely, Jenn and Mike Siopes Mike and The C-Jammers, I wanted to sincerely thank you and the band for the incredible performance for our wedding in Stowe, Vermont (9/11 at the Topnotch). We had an amazing evening, and you made the evening a blast. Almost everyone at the wedding has told Shelley and I personally that you were the best band they have ever heard at a wedding. You enticed every age group to dance, which was our objective. By the way, you played "More Today Than Yesterday" perfect. Without any reservations, we recommend your band wholeheartedly, and would be glad to be considered as a reference. Thanks again. Ryan and Shelley Mike et al, I'll follow up with a formal letter but just wanted to say thanks for everything. You guys were awesome at our wedding. So many people commented on how great you were. Thanks also for learning our song last minute. That was unbelievable. I'll never forget it. All the best, Heidi September 9, 2000 Hi Mike. Thanks so much for a wonderful evening last week. We all had a ball. You were right--you know how to manage a party. You fell down on the "woman toss" though. HA! Thanks again for a great party. Sue

ClockworkMusicians know that timing in music is everything. A part well played , or a verse sung beautifully, is only art when all parts of the group are working simultaneously to produce a whole. One group exemplifies this principle and they're named appropriately,CLOCKWORK. Clockwork has added a dynamic new vocalist and the results are astounding. People are saying Clockwork is the band to watch in 2006.
The talented members of the band have performed with the likes of Aretha Franklin, The Four Tops, Natalie Cole, Lou Rawls, and The Temptations, been recognized by Billboard Magazine, and released numerous recordings. I thought you handled everything perfectly, and as promised, got everyone up and dancing. We can't thank you enough, and of course, you may use me as a reference.
Here's the quote, although you're free to make changes if you want: " We heard a lot of bands before we picked Clockwork for our daughter's wedding, and they exceeded our expectations. From first contact to the last chord, Ron Barth and his musicians were a pleasure to work with. Their play list was huge, their performance of every song outstanding, and, as promised, they had over 200 people on their feet and dancing. You can't do better than Clockwork. I mean every word of it and know Dan agrees.
