John Lincoln Wright - country AND western

While attending college in the mid-sixties, Lincoln formed The Beacon Street Union, one of the legendary Boston Sound bands. In the early seventies, he brought together The Sour Mash Boys and has been recording and performing regionally and nationally ever since while displaying a broad repertoire of origianal contemporary and classic country, honky-tonk, Westen swing, rockability and ballads. As a singer, he has been acclaimed as possessing one of the finest baritone vocals in country music, and has won numerous awards and polls for his abilities and achievements. A rare distinction in his career is having performed with Jimi Hendrix, The Who, The Mothers, The J. Geils Band, and Janis Joplin at her last ever concert held at Harvard Stadium as well as the likes of Willie Nelson, Waylon Jenning, Merle Haggard, Emmy Lou Harris and Dolly Parton.
