Toni Lynn Washington"The most requested local artist on my blues show"...Bill Smith WBOS 92.9. Toni Lynn Washington is an undiscovered local treasure whose rich musical history includes live performances and recordings with some of the most significant artists in R&B and Blues history. Toni's credits include her own early recordings on the Conti Label of Atlantic Records out of New Orleans, where she was included amongst other notables such as Irma Thomas, Carla Thomas, Rufus Thomas, Johnny Adams, and Jean Knight. Earlier in her career she opened for Jackie Wilson and Sam and Dave. She also performed with "Sisters Love", whose members were all former Raylettes. During the early seventies, Toni toured the far east with the U.S.O. with her group the Sound Seventy's. Now, finally, Toni has her own band!! Including Keyboardist Bruce Bears, whose credits include live performances with Eddie Floyd, Matt "Guitar" Murphy, William Bell, etc... and who, along with Toni and the band's own Lou Wallach (The area's premier swing blues bassist), is a former member of Boston Baked Blues. Rounding out the band are Paul Ahlstrand on tenor saxaphone, who has performed with many of New Englsnd's top groups. Tim Gearan, whose smooth guitar playing has made him one of Boston's most popular performers, and Steve Fuller, one of the City's best drummers, who has worked with Percy Sledge amongst others.
