Dis 'n' Dat Reggae BandDis-n-Dat Band is a Boston based reggae\calypso band lead by award winning steel drummer and vocalist Debra Sarjeant and Grammy nominated ex-Black Uhuru drummer MarcusRangotan Smith, the band made up of five members, the band has played all over the U.S. and the Caribbean .We play authentic Caribbean music. From the pulsating beat of soca and steel drums to the relaxing sounds of reggae.. Dis-n-Dat will take you back to that island vacation without the plane ride!!The band members are as follows.
Debra Sista D Sarjeant-steel drums, vocals, keyboards. Born in Trinidad Debra or Sista D as she is known as has been playing professionally from the age of ten, She started out playing with her father in his band and played all over the U.S. with him and his band Real Steel, she has since played with such reggae greats as Pato Banton, and Yami Bolo, and has opened up for Jimmy buffet, Burning Spear, Buju Banton And has also played with Calypso Rose the queen of Calypso. Debra is also the first woman to win the steel band competition in the U.S. not once but six years in a row!! She is featured ion when steel talks as a top arranger and player in the U.S . Rangotan- Drums back-up vocals. Rango is originally from Kingston Jamaica and started out his career at channel one in Jamaica, he has played with Yellow Man, Sugar Minot and toured the world several times with Black Uhuru he also played on four Grammy nominated albums with the band Rango is the beat of the band and keeps the crowd going At all times!!! Charles Sarjeant- Keyboards-Charles is the youngest member of the band he is an accomplished steel drummer as well as keyboardist he has been playing since the age of 8
Reggie Beazer-Bass/reggie is an excellent bassist versed in all styles of music reggie reggie was one of the founders of legendary boston reggae band motion they won best reggae band 4 yerars in a row and were signed to rca records since the bands split reggie has joined the band and has become one of the reasons people cant stop dancing!!
Journalist bandoo-Vocals, journalist was born in jamaica and has performed all over the U.S. and the Caribbean.Journalist has recorded three albums his song weekend vacation is currently on the Jamaican top 20 charts and also rising in Europe, Journalist was resently nominated for the carribbean music awards in boston at berklee college of music .He has opened for the Wailers, Toots and the Maytals , Elephant Man, and Barrington Leavy and Dennis brown just to name a few!! journalist is filled with energy and knows how to work an audience For more information, Contact Us |
